Here's a little abstract journal page that I created for this week's AlphabeThursday. This is something I usually don't do. But since I couldn't think of an Italian place-name or word that began with the Letter K, I decided to play with some of my new stamps.
I began with a "Faded Text Background" stamp and covered the entire page with archival ink. Then I stamped the letter k all over the page with Joe Hill Distress Ink. This ink isn't waterproof - it's perfect for when you're not adding water. But I wanted to sprits my page with water and get the colors to bleed a little. Neat!
On top of my journal page, I added some homemade paper that I made about a year ago, and sprits the page with more water. I've been thinking about papermaking all week... Friday evening, I'm taking a papermaking class at the Art Center down the street from my house; I decided to get more involved in the art scene in my hometown.
I smeared some orangey-yellow watercolors on one side. And to finish off the page, I added the "LETTER K" using some small store-bought stamps - with waterproof ink!
Come by the AlphabeThursday classroom, and see what everyone is doing!

Yep, this was quite a departure for you, and I liked it!
=)
Loved this, just as much as your other posts. Seems we were on the same linguistic family page this week...no Ks in Spanish, either. ;)
It turned out really nice! I love the bleeding effect too:)
How soft and pretty it looks....
love it!
I like how you added the paper.
I like writing in a pen that is not waterproof so that it smears a bit when I add water--I like effect.
very nice effects. i keep imagining texts with just the "k". lol... i know how some ppl hate that. :)
Looks very nice !
BTW the beach in Eastbourne has pebbles, you walk on it with sandals or whatever. Barefoot would hurt, lol !
Fun idea! I don't do a lot of abstract compositions either, but it can be very freeing. Have fun with the paper making class!
Getting involved with local artists sounds fun!
Neat idea. I love the composition... can think of a lot of variations... very inspirational. Thanks for posting! Found you on the Monday inspiration blog hop.
