My first AlphabeThursday post started with Round 2 and the Letter R. I like to use themes for each Round, so I started with Tangle patterns. In Round 4, I switched to original drawings and my art journal. Now we're in Round 5, and my theme is going to be Italy. I was overseas for the first two letters, but my blog does have two posts that are very fitting, both on May 27th: Traveling with an android and Bolzano in the Italian Alps
We landed in Rome on Thursday and visited the Vatican on the next day. Then left the city and headed north. On our return to Rome, everyone wanted to see the Coliseum. And I'm glad we did.
I didn't realize how large the structure was going to be. It was too late in the day to get inside, but we walked around the exterior. It's enough to take your breath away!
We walked up the Palatine Hill, directly to the west of the Coliseum. The view is spectacular; I highly recommend it! I believe this image (above) is Capital Hill, looking north. As you can see, the day was a little overcast, but as we walked around the entire Coliseum, the sun began to come out and I got some great photographs.
Here is a two minute video I made with my smartphone - as a wrote: a necessity when traveling!
