Online classes contain challenges and videos, teaching us how to experiment. You can learn new techniques that more experienced artists have already tried. I started taking classes about two or three years ago; my favorites are focused on art journaling. Of course. Right now, I just started the second session of Weekly Art Date with Moira Richardson. It's only $15 - very inexpensive for a weekly class lasting three months. So if you're into paper arts, come join me in a great class, and meet artists from all over the world!
If you're into digital art, then you'll love Jessica Sprague website (she also has a blog). Go to her toolbar tab, "Online classes". You can learn how to restore photographs, work digitally with your art journal, make various kinds of scrapbooks and cards. There's 3 other instructors besides Jessica on this site. I'd like to take her "Computer Tricks for Cards" ($35 - self paced) and "Digital Art Journaling" ($60 - dated), but will wait until I get a better printer.
Erika, from Artful Rising, is hosting the Embrace Inspiration Workshop due to debut at the end of May. If you come over to our team blog, Blogging Business Artisans, and enter the giveaway, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the workshop, along with winning a stamped keychain and self-realization journal with 25 prompts.
If I was going to take a cooking class, it would be something like the one Jenny offers at nourished kitchen simply called "how to cook read food". Watch the video on her website and see what I mean.
There are a few felting classes on Etsy that caught my eye. One in particular is with "nownzen ... art to wear", where you would be using Nuno felting techniques. This is all very new to me, but her work is so beautiful. It includes one 3 hour session and costs $75.00. "All you need is your computer with an internet connection, webcom (hey, mine's gone - DH must have taken it off!), a microphone and speakers."
Have fun learning new things!

Thanks for the links to the online classes Deb! The internet is so fabulous that we can learn without having to leave home!
Awesome round up! It's amazing how many great classes are offered online, often at such reasonable prices.

What a great list of classes! And isn't it kind of a weird concept that we can take these in the first place? M & I have been wanting to take cooking classes for a while now...I think we'll do it the old fashioned way though:)
