I practiced my carving skills earlier in the week, making little cars for my AlphabeThursday post (these posts will one day be put together in an alphabet book for children). Journey might be a difficult word for young children to spell, but I'm sure they understand what it means. Most have been in a car and taken a journey to see a relative. Or have gone on a vacation.

Journey is not a very fond memory word for me...I got car sick every time my family went on a vacation journey. However, I am grown now and I drive the car (so much smoother than my Dad!) and now Journey has nice connotations behind it with the fun vacation journeys that we go on :)
Life is a journey, but kids will associate a journey with a road trip for sure. I would like to take a journey as in a lovely vacation along the New England coast line. Oh, not right now. When the weather is far warmer and sunnier. This would be my journey come true!
Another great stamp! And I love the doggie in the back seat getting to go along on the journey :)
That's a nice drawing, lol ! real cute. I think I was 10 when I first rode in a car and of course I was sick !
very cute. I love that you took the time to make the blocks...and a sheltie in the back seat...my hubs would love that!
Great *J* post – and agree life is a journey!

Great job on this. I love the carved car!
=)
Journey is such a great concept for kids. A fun illustration like this would be a perfect way to teach the word. I agree with Edi that the dog is a great touch.
Why they are going some place fun, like the beach so they can play fetch with their dog!
We bet they are going on a journey to someplace warm with an ocean and hiking trails! Or maybe that's where we want to go! :)
Your stamps are turning out great! What a wonderful idea. Journey is one of my all time favorite words of any letter.
My kids like to pretend they are taking a trip which is so cute. Unfortunately they think it means that they need to take out their clean clothes and pile them with toys on the sofa to get ready:)
So nice and creative..I love journeys too.
brilliant! what a wonderful creative post!
love your stamps and your journey drawing!
Cute results from your carved stamp! I love the word "journey," by the way.
Oh man. I am totally going to try this carving stuff once I get moved. I'm so intriqued with what you're doing here!
Thanks for sharing this jaunty little journey with us today for the letter "J".
