I went to take some photos and put some seeds out of the birds.

Next morning (Friday) I didn't go to work. Luckily, our power didn't go out, like it did in December. MJ and I went out back to survey the damage. Notice DH's black sneaker - it was a bit smelly, and she didn't want it in the house. Looks dead now...

Here's the doggie side yard... one of her favorite hangouts. Down limbs everywhere! We'll have to pull all the branches through here, for city pick-up. What a job!

And our back yard. We lost a lot of large limbs off the big trees.

A close-up of a branch, to get an idea of the weather. Today it's still freezing, but tomorrow we should reach the mid-40s. Maybe all the ice will melt.

In the kitchen this afternoon, DH pointed out the neighbor's power pole that USED to be against their house. A tree limb bent the metal pole over, at a horizontal! Can you believe that!

What an awful storm! Glad that your house wasn't damaged but it's sad all those brances broke. It was fun seeing MJ though!
Oh my! Glad you, your family and home are safe. Hope the ice melts off for you very quickly!
Oh, my God- that power line! I hope they're able to get that fixed quickly. Luckily, we didn't have as much ice as you did, but it was weird hearing all the trees crackle when the wind blew.
Wow...scary! I'm just glad to hear none hit your house and that everyone is okay!
wow! Those are some amazing pics. So glad to hear that the house was okay. Cross my fingers that the trees survive their loss ok too.
Oh man. It's a good thing you're all ok. I've been worried about the trees this year, too - but it hasn't been so bad at my house - this is crazy warm then cold weather this winter.
I'm glad you didn't lose power! When I heard lots of outages hit your town, I thought of you. We didn't get so much damage, but boy is there a lot of snow on the ground!
Brrrr! Glad I live in Florida!
The photo's of the ice on the trees are beautiful. Very glad you didn't have any damage to your home, MJ is SO cute, glad you are safe, and sorry you lost some parts of your beautiful trees. Bet things will look better in the Spring and Summer!
What a mess! I'm glad your house is ok though and that all of your are safe :)
Wow...ice is really an evil queen- so gorgeous, and so powerful!
Wow...that was a pretty bad ice storm! We don't get ice up here, but we do get wind storms that are pretty hard on the trees.
So eerie... Glad you are safe!
Wow! That is amazing! I think ice storms transform the landscape into beauty. However, they can be so treacherous. We've had several in the past few years. only a small amount of ice this year. so sorry about your trees!
