1) In a few months, the holiday season will be in full swing. What are you planning for: increasing your inventory, festival hopping, networking?
My plan is to plan ahead! In September, there's an art festival I'm going to that has me real excited. I did well last year, and am looking for a repeat performance!
But after September, I plan to ....1) get out my leftover beads
2) make lots of nice earrings and book thongs
that people can use for stocking stuffers, affordable gifts, "splurge" materials
AND
3) start on my paper projects.
Yes, that's what I said, PAPER! I love paper! And I'm thrilled to attend a workshop this weekend with my mom, on bookbinding and bookmaking. That will give me some hands-on experience, and make it a little easier to tackle the projects I have planned. See how it all works out.
I do have one lampwork bead that I've been holding onto.. I bought this from Island Girl last November and I've been saving it for the holidays. See where I'm going here? lol
Some other ideas....*I need to get up the courage and return to the gift stop where I was displaying some of my jewelry. I pulled them last year to use at art shows and online. Maybe the owner will take me back...
* I might hit a few craft festivals, with some less expensive items. I'm thinking my jewelry is a little high-priced in this time of cutbacks and "essentials only."
* I need to look at HandmadeNews.org and see what their Marketing Department is buzzing about (thanks ahead of time, Jamie - you always have great ideas.)
Other than that, does anybody else have some good online suggestions?

Sounds like good times are ahead :) Can't wait to hear how the bookbinding class goes! I'd love to take this type of class too!
Wow, sound like you have a great plan ahead!! can't wait to see..
I love that lampwork bead! Have fun with it. I just posted my first article for the Blog Carnival. Thanks for hosting :)
ambitious and fun! May all your plans go well!
Looks like you are all prepared for your upcoming shows and preparing for the Fall and winter seasons. If only I could learn to think ahead! Good luck at the show.
Sounds like some great plans - good luck!
Paper!?! Your talents run deep! I can't wait to see what your shop has on offer this holiday season!
I'm planning to get back into the funny coaster business this fall but I am loving my new painting adventures so I'm trying to squeeze in a few juried shows as well. Wish me luck!

Those plans sound great! Can't wait to hear about your class and I hope the show is as successful if not more so than last year! And thanks for introducing the words "book thong" to me! LOL!
Thanks so much for hi-lighting my bead.. I was dreaming about it last night thinking I should be thinking about making Christmas beads and fall beads!
Have fun at the workshop and good luck at the show... the gallery has been similar to the last two years so far this summer!
Hope you have much success at the festival!
Sounds like you are getting it all planned. I'm getting myself psyched up for the Fall craft show season. I want to do at least 4 shows this year. I also need to get pictures taken of my inventory to start listing things as it starts to cool off in the next few months.
Great plans! I love the little Christmas bead! Good luck with the book binding and any paper projects you undertake - I love working with paper. Have fun with your mom!
