One of the Etsybloggers carnival topics for the week is to write about what we're currently working on.
I've been making a lot of little things for an upcoming craft show. But I'm really excited about something I bought from Roseworks Jewelry's BNR (Buy and Replace) Treasury last week. It's a beautiful lampwork bead created by Graceful Creations.

I've been making a lot of little things for an upcoming craft show. But I'm really excited about something I bought from Roseworks Jewelry's BNR (Buy and Replace) Treasury last week. It's a beautiful lampwork bead created by Graceful Creations.

So, I've been waiting for it to arrive in my mailbox, checking out the photograph, and thinking about colors. I wanted to pick up on the pinks and greens in the bead, with maybe an onyx foundation. When it arrive today, I dug into my stash, and came up with these beads:

But I really wanted something pink, and not that many stones are pink. Luckily, I had some extra Czech glass hearts that I bought for another project. They would accent the focal bead perfectly! So exciting - you beaders know where I'm coming from!
What I usually do is spread everything out on my work table, to see how the colors look.

And it works. Now I just have to make a design, and write my haiku. I'll show you how it turns out!
Thanks, ShellMitchell, for thinking up this topic!

lovely colors. I see several possibilities and I'm sure there are hundreds more. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Yes, the colors are absolutely beautiful. Post a picture when you're done!
I can't wait to see the final design!
Lovely stuff, Deb. I can't wait to see the finished product. Your process is similar to mine -- I always lay things out and put them together in my head like a puzzle.
Thanks for the link ;) I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with this! Looks like our processes are pretty similar :)
What a beautiful find in the BnR - can't wait to see the finished product, and the haiku to complete it!
