Just listed this three strand necklace on Etsy tonight. Finished it yesterday, but I didn't have the light to photograph it. Still, the various hues of the chipped amazonite beads are a little difficult to see. They range from baby blueish to white. I put tiny clear seed beads between the chips.

Block Kingman turquoise bird fetishes are scattered throughout the strands. I used some beautiful carved sterling silver cones to bring the ends of the necklace together.Made some earrings tonight, to match the necklace, and they are available in another listing.
Amazonite is a gem variety of microcline feldspar, found in the United States, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Russia, Australia and Namibia. The colors usually range from light green to blue-green. This semi-opaque stone was used extensively by the Egyptians, and was called the stone of courage. One legend says it's named after the Amazon women warriors.[update: this sold Fall, 2008]

You are so creative! I love this necklace!
thanks mamaZ - it looks even better in real time! need to make a light box, to help me photograph. put that on my list of things to do!
Beautiful! I love those earrings. :)
The necklace is beautiful!
So pretty! Love the birds.
Those birdies are just too cute! If you have extra, you should make a second necklace with tigerseye and then you can say they are sitting on tree branches!
I can see how that would be difficult to photograph (so many subtle colors to capture). Looks like you did a great job though. LOVE the birdies.
Story, the necklace is just beautiful. I really like how you put it together and told a story about the pieces.

GORGEOUS!!!! Simply gorgeous!
Wow - that's a beautiful necklace! And those ear-rings are so cute. I have heard that Amazonite boosts fertility - perhaps a connection to tha Amazonian warriors you mention?
